The Royal Parks are the charity dedicated to caring for the most famous collection of urban parks in the world. They protect and sustainably manage 5,000 acres of diverse parkland in iconic locations including – St James’s Park, Green Park, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Regent’s Park, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park. These timeless green spaces provide a living history comprised of Grade 1 listed landscapes on the English Register of Historic Parks and Gardens and are home to numerous Grade i and ii listed buildings, artefacts and monuments. In addition, Greenwich Park lies within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bushy Park has recently been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and Richmond Park is a National Nature Reserve, London's largest Site of Special Scientific Interest and a European Special Area of Conservation.
We were appointed by the Commercial Director to appoint a Head of Event Development, a newly created role to lead the commercial event side of the business. The Head of Event Development is responsible for the commercial and strategic vision for their major event program which includes the iconic Winter Wonderland and British Summer Time Festival. This key position manages the tender and award process for large scale events and requires exceptional stakeholder management skills in order to work closely with key departments across the charity. Our search focused on identifying individuals who had significant experience of major events across the UK and expertise in leading multi million pound tender processes. Following an extensive search and interview process, the Commercial Director appointed Lee Fiorentino to the role. He brought significant knowledge and expertise, having previously worked at Alexandra Palace and had also led the events program across Clapham Common and the London Borough of Wandsworth.
