Operations Director UK & Ireland
We were instructed by the CEO and HRD of Krispy Kreme to support them with the search for an Operations Director. This was a newly created role to take responsibility for the manufacturing, transportation and logistics side of the business. Krispy Kreme is a highly complex and fast paced food manufacturing operation due to their focus and commitment to “deliver fresh daily” products. The successful candidate would need to understand and operate a hub and spoke manufacturing model and have the strategic capability to develop the business, whilst still working within the operation and adopting a hands on approach.
We conducted an extensive search process across a broad range of food manufacturing environments, particularly focusing on high volume, fast paced, significant multi site operations. Our shortlist consisted of candidates from the bakery sector, fresh fruit & veg, supermarkets and confectionary manufacturers. The successful candidate had significant expertise as both a supplier into supermarkets as well as leading food production and process improvement for Morrisons. Following two years in the role delivering significant improvements and success, they have recently been promoted into a global role to focus on manufacturing and process excellence across all Krispy Kreme’s international markets.
